Perseverance, willpower, motivation… those are the easy answers people give when asked how someone reaches a certain level of skill. None of them really describe my little brother. He’s simply stubborn.
When I was fourteen, he showed me his first comic. Honestly, I thought it was terrible. As his older brother, I took every opportunity to point out its flaws. But he kept drawing. He never stopped.
Years later, I realize I was watching genuine passion develop. His work has grown into something I can hardly put into words. What started with that first imperfect comic became a lifelong dedication to his art.
It’s a reminder that practice, failure, and a little stubbornness can take you a long way when you truly love what you do.
I’m proud to finally see where that first comic led him.
“If it’s worth being done, it needs to be done right.”

Written by his older brother.
